CM Balochistan approves promotion of 1400 teachers

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo has approved the promotion of more than 1400 teachers across the province. The teachers were waiting for their promotion for the last more than two decades, an official handout issued on Wednesday said. “We welcome this step and it was our longstanding demand”, Muhammad Qasim Khan, the President of Senior Educational Staff Association (SESA) said.

Promotion in various cadres was one of the long-standing demands of the teachers’ community. The CM approved the promotion of teachers following recommendations from the Balochistan Education Minister, Mir Naseebullah Marri, and Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana and Secretary Education, Abdul Rauf Baloch.

Selection board approves promotion of 848 male and 603 female SSTs

The promotion selection board has approved the promotion of 848 Senior Science Teachers (SST) to headmasters and subject specialists positions, the official statement mentioned. Similarly, the selection board has approved the promotion of 603 female SSTs to headmasters and subject specialists positions in Balochistan.

“Our teachers are encouraged and now they would wholeheartedly promote education”, Qasim Khan said. The teachers were serving in the education department for last more than two decades.

This is for the first time in 35 years that such a large number of teachers have been promoted, the official handout concluded.
