Police arrested Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) leader Shireen Mazari from Islamabad on Saturday. Imam Mazari, the daughter of Shireen Mazari claimed that policemen stormed inside our house and beat my mother.

“I was told that anti-corruption team Punjab officials arrested my mother”, Imam Zainab Mazari confirmed. According to documents, Shireen Mazari has illegally occupied land.

Shireen Mazari remained one of the central leaders of the PTI. She also remained federal minister for human rights in the former prime minister Imran Khan’s cabinet.

PTI leader Shehbaz Gill urged all party workers to reach Kohsar police station after the arrest of Shireen Mazari. “My mother has been forcefully disappeared”, Imam Zainab said.

In footage of her arrest which was aired by broadcasters, Shireen could be seen being dragged out of a car by female police personnel while she could be heard protesting: “No. Don’t touch me.”

Unidentified voices in the footage could be heard telling her that “there is no issue” and the matter could be discussed “peacefully”. “You are using violence.
