QUETTA: Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) Chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai expelled members provincial assembly, Nasrullah Khan Zarai, Essa Roshan, Yousaf Khan Kakar, Syed Abdul Qadar Agha, Khushal Kasi and others as the internal crisis within the party loomed on Saturday.
“All office-bearers who participated in a gathering at the residence of Yousaf Khan Kakar are sacked from the party”, the PKMAP Chief announced this decision while addressing a news conference. Senior leaders Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, Abdul Qahar Wadan, Rauf Lala, and others were also present on the occasion.
Mukhtar Yousafzai asks Achakzai to participate in the upcoming party congress
This decision on behalf of the PKMAP Chief has come two days after the party dissidents met in Kuchlak and urged him to convene the party’s national congress to discuss what they call an internal and ideological crisis. Mukhtar Yousafzai spoke at length about the prevailing ideological crisis within the party and urged the chairman to listen to the workers.
“The sacked leaders failed to toe the party line despite repeated warnings”, Mr. Achakzai said. He hinted at opening party doors open for the junior cadres and adopting a strict approach towards the senior leaders.
Raza Muhammad and Babat Lala already sacked
Achakzai has already sacked the party’s secretary general Mukhtar Khan Yousafzai, former senator Raza Muhammad Raza and former provincial minister Obaidullah Jan Babat. The party’s dissidents have also convened the national congress at the end of December to discuss the prevailing internal conflict within the party.
The PKMAP chairman however reiterated that a stable Afghanistan was in the support of Pakistan and the two Muslim neighbors can live peacefully. The seasoned politician stated that the secret services of the country should stay away from political affairs and only this would give guarantee a strong and prosperous Pakistan.
He said currently Pakistan was facing a serious financial crisis and that the political leaders should focus on finding a permanent solution to this. Achakzai urged party workers to ensure discipline and unity among their ranks and struggle for the acquisition of Pashtoon rights.
