Violent protests in Peshawar left three people dead and several injured on Wednesday. Violent clashes took place between the supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and baton-wielding policemen across the country.
However, the protests took an ugly turn in Peshawar and three people were killed. The federal government deployed armed forces in Peshawar and Punjab provinces to maintain the law and order situation.
Army deployed in KP and Punjab
The provincial governments had requested the armed forces to maintain the order. Sporadic incidents of violent clashes took place in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The highly charged supporters of the former prime minister set an ambulance on fire in Peshawar. Edhi Foundation sources confirmed the incident. The protesters also burnt public and private properties.
Balochistan Govt yet to requisite army
In Balochistan: The federal government asked the provincial government to deploy Pak Army to maintain order. However, the provincial government is yet to convene the armed forces. A well-placed security official told Daily Quetta Voice via telephone.
