ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday said that the sacrifices of martyred soldiers will not go in vain.

The COAS visited the Sherwangi area near Asman Manza in the South Waziristan District where six brave soldiers had embraced Shahadat yesterday while fighting gallantly against terrorists.

Upon arrival, COAS was given a detailed briefing on the prevailing security situation including ongoing intelligence and counter-terrorism operations.

COAS interacted with officers and troops deployed in the area and appreciated their unflinching resolve in fighting the menace of terrorism. COAS said that Shuhadas are our pride and that their sacrifices will not be in vain till the return of complete peace and stability in Pakistan.
COAS emphasized that terrorists, their affiliates and abettors working on the behest of a hostile agenda to destabilize Pakistan will be hunted down until they surrender to the State of Pakistan.
Earlier on arrival, COAS was received by Commander Peshawar Corps.
