Quetta: Female doctors in Balochistan have urged the provincial government to announce district-level vacancies and ensure the payment of their long-pending salaries, which have reportedly been withheld for two years.

Addressing a press conference at the Quetta Press Club, Dr. Sahti Nowsherwani emphasized the pressing challenges faced by female doctors. She criticized the government for neglecting their basic needs, including salaries and proper facilities.

She stated, “Women doctors have been deprived of their salaries and basic facilities for the past two years. The government must address our concerns and take practical steps to resolve these issues.”

She further demanded residential facilities near government hospitals across the province, explaining that such measures would alleviate the hardships faced by female doctors and enable them to perform their duties more effectively, particularly in remote areas.

The female doctors also called on the government to move beyond mere announcements and take tangible actions to address the struggles of health professionals, especially those serving in far-flung regions of Balochistan.

The appeal highlights the ongoing challenges in the healthcare sector, with female doctors advocating for better working conditions and timely compensation to continue serving the province.
