QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has ordered strict adherence to 100% merit for contract-based teaching posts in the education department. Speaking with Deputy Commissioner Dera Bugti, Zohaib-ul-Haq, on Tuesday, the CM directed that appointments be ensured only for candidates meeting merit criteria, with no room for favoritism or compromise.

The Chief Minister emphasized, “There should be 100% merit, not 99%. FIRs must be registered against candidates submitting fake degrees. No preferences will be allowed—merit will prevail, even if it benefits opponents.”

Deputy Commissioner Zohaib-ul-Haq assured that the recruitment process would be transparent. District Education Officers have been tasked with verifying degrees thoroughly, with immediate action against any candidate found guilty of forgery.

As part of its education reform, the Balochistan government plans to reopen 3,000 schools across the province, hiring thousands of teachers on a contract basis. This initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities and improve enrollment rates, reflecting the government’s commitment to merit and transparency.
