Quetta: Balochistan is bracing for heavy snowfall tonight, as forecasted by the Meteorological Department, with key areas such as Kozhak Pass, Lak Pass, Kan Mehtarzai, and Mach Kolpur expected to experience significant accumulation.

The National Highway Authority (NHA) has deployed machinery and staff at these critical points to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow and prevent potential incidents.

The NHA General Manager, Agha Inayat confirmed that heavy snowfall is particularly anticipated at Kozhak Pass, which links Pakistan with Afghanistan, as well as on key highways including the Quetta-Islamabad and Quetta-Karachi routes. Residents and travelers have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during the snowfall to ensure safety.

In Quetta and surrounding regions, preparations are in place to tackle any emergencies caused by the extreme weather. The NHA’s proactive measures, including the positioning of snow-clearing machinery, aim to minimize disruptions and ensure road safety.
