Quetta: Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan has announced that 2,975 non-functional schools will be made operational after the completion of SBK and contract-based hiring processes.
The decision comes as part of the government’s efforts to improve the education sector in the province.
During a briefing, it was revealed that 6,125 teachers were found absent, leading to 372 terminations, 267 suspensions, 1,124 show-cause notices, and 161 warnings. Meanwhile, 727 out of 3,702 inactive schools have already been restored.
The Chief Secretary emphasized that the provincial government is utilizing all available resources for public welfare. He directed authorities to ensure the uninterrupted supply of medicines in hospitals, strict monitoring of food prices, and swift action on public grievances. He also ordered Deputy Commissioners to prevent road blockades during protests to avoid inconvenience to citizens.
