QUETTA: The Balochistan National Party (BNP) has strongly condemned what it calls “bogus cases” registered against its leader Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal, Mir Gurgain Mengal, and over 1,800 others. In a statement, the party criticized the cases as politically motivated and expressed solidarity with those facing legal action.

A delegation of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), led by Mir Usman Parkani, visited BNP leaders detained at New Sariab Police Station, including Mir Ghulam Rasool Mengal. The delegation condemned the cases and extended support to the arrested leaders.

Meanwhile, BNP held a high-level meeting in Quetta, presided over by Secretary General Malik Naseer Ahmed Shahwani, and attended by key figures such as Malik Wali Kakar, Sanaullah Baloch, BSO Secretary General Samand Baloch, and others. Prominent party leaders, including Tahir Shahwani Advocate, Dr. Ali Ahmed Qambrani, and Mir Muhammad Akram Bangulzai, participated in the discussions.

During the meeting, BNP reaffirmed its commitment to resisting what it described as state oppression. The party leadership noted that BNP leaders had already courted arrests alongside workers in the first phase of their protest movement. The party vowed to continue its struggle, emphasizing that the crackdown on BNP leaders and workers would not deter them from advocating for Balochistan’s rights.
