Quetta, April 5: Internet service was restored in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, on Saturday night after a four-day disruption, bringing relief to thousands of users across the city.
The prolonged outage had severely affected students, business owners, and professionals who rely on online connectivity. With the restoration of service, people breathed a sigh of relief and resumed digital communication and work.
“It was a nightmare. I missed my online lectures and couldn’t meet deadlines,” said Areeba Khan, a university student in Quetta. “I feel like I’ve reconnected with the world.”
Business owners also reported financial losses due to the shutdown. “My online orders were stuck, and customers kept calling. This has cost us big,” said Malik Rehan, who runs an e-commerce store.
The authorities have not provided any official reason for the disruption. Citizens are urging the government and service providers to ensure uninterrupted internet access, especially in a digitally dependent era.
The outage had also impacted online banking, social media, and remote working platforms across Quetta.
