A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, was held to review preparations for the upcoming Monsoon 2025 and potential flood risks. The meeting aimed to ensure timely action and inter-departmental coordination to address any emergency effectively.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Irrigation Hafiz Abdul Majid, Director General PDMA, all divisional commissioners, and deputy commissioners via video link. Each DC briefed the forum on monsoon preparedness and the specific challenges in their respective districts.

Key directives issued by the Chief Secretary included:

  • All district administrations must keep staff and equipment ready for any emergency situation.
  • Immediate steps must be taken to improve drainage systems.
  • Relevant departments should keep their machinery and emergency protocols fully functional.
  • An effective strategy must be implemented to prevent urban flooding and protect public infrastructure.
  • Strong coordination between all departments should be prioritized.

The Chief Secretary instructed all deputy commissioners to convene local-level meetings immediately after Eid to finalize district-level monsoon action plans and communicate responsibilities to all concerned departments. Strict action will be taken against officials found negligent during the monsoon season.

The primary goal of the meeting was to establish an organized, proactive, and collaborative system to minimize the impact of monsoon-related challenges and ensure the safety of the public.
