Web Desk: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, in his message on Universal Health Coverage Day, said that affordable and dependable healthcare is not just a basic entitlement but a prime obligation of the state. He noted that the provincial government is introducing practical, sustainable, and targeted measures to improve the healthcare system and fulfill this responsibility.

Bugti explained that wide-ranging reforms are being carried out across the province to ensure that medical services are accessible, timely, and trustworthy. He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing uniform healthcare facilities to all residents, whether they live in urban centres or distant rural and mountainous areas.

He stated that several regions of Balochistan are receiving essential health services in a meaningful way for the first time since independence, a reflection of the provincial government’s bold and historic actions. Maternal and child healthcare programmes, he added, are being upgraded to offer better protection and care to future generations.

The chief minister said that investing in the health sector strengthens communities and supports long-term social and economic well-being. To assist underprivileged groups, public hospitals are being restructured to ensure free treatment where needed. He noted that these measures are already yielding positive change in people’s daily lives.

Bugti stressed that a strong and efficient health system is crucial during emergencies and disasters, which is why the government is prioritizing improvements in medical infrastructure and service delivery. He reaffirmed that the ongoing reforms will pave the way for a more secure, equitable, and healthier future for the people of Balochistan.
