QUETTA:Â Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan chaired a high-level conference of commissioners and deputy commissioners, directing authorities to speed up development projects, enforce price control, and ensure strict implementation of the plastic bag ban across the province.
The meeting reviewed several priority areas, including temporary recruitments in education and health departments, quick resolution of public complaints through open courts, completion of ongoing schemes, and stronger use of social media to highlight government initiatives.
Senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat, Additional Chief Secretary (Development) Zahid Saleem, Secretary S&GAD Syed Faisal Ahmed, Secretary Information Imran Khan, and Secretary Education (Schools) Asfandyar Khan, attended via video link along with all divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners.
The chief secretary said temporary positions should be filled without delay so inactive schools can become functional again. He directed all districts to regularly hold open courts to provide immediate solutions to public issues related to water, electricity, health, and education.
Emphasizing price control, he warned that artificial price hikes would not be tolerated and instructed officials to activate price control committees and intensify action against profiteering.
Khan also ordered full enforcement of the plastic bag ban to support environmental protection.
On development, he stressed timely completion of schools, hospitals, roads, and water supply projects, and called for positive coverage of these initiatives on social media to keep citizens informed and highlight the provincial government’s performance.
