Quetta: The Balochistan Bar Council has strongly condemned the brutal killing of advocate Hamal Hasni in Panjgur, describing the incident as a grave attack on the legal profession and the rule of law.

In a press release issued on March 7, 2026, the Bar Council expressed deep sorrow and concern over the tragic incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased lawyer.

According to the statement, the killing of a lawyer is not merely the murder of an individual but an attack on the justice system and the supremacy of law. The council stated that lawyers have always played a vital role in upholding the Constitution, protecting public rights, and ensuring the rule of law in society.

The Balochistan Bar Council criticized the failure of relevant institutions to ensure the protection of lawyers and citizens. The council urged the Government of Balochistan and law-enforcement agencies to immediately take notice of the incident, conduct a transparent investigation, and arrest those responsible as soon as possible.

The council further demanded that effective security measures be introduced to ensure the safety of lawyers so that such tragic incidents can be prevented in the future.

The Bar Council warned that if the perpetrators are not arrested immediately and practical steps are not taken to protect lawyers, the legal fraternity reserves the right to stage strong protests.

To protest the killing, the Balochistan Bar Council has announced a boycott of courts across the province on Monday, March 9, 2026.

The council also prayed for the elevation of the deceased lawyer’s ranks and patience for the grieving family.
