Quetta : On March 9, 2026, the Government of Balochistan through the Balochistan Education Department (Schools) announced the temporary closure of all public and private educational institutions across the province.
According to the official notification, the decision has been taken in view of the prevailing regional situation and to ensure administrative preparedness for any potential emergency circumstances.
As per the directive, all schools and educational institutions across Balochistan will remain closed from March 9, 2026, until March 23, 2026 with immediate effect. Authorities stated that the measure has been taken to facilitate the public and to address potential issues related to transportation and mobility.
However, the Education Department clarified that several academic activities will continue as scheduled during the closure period. These include the ongoing admission campaign, the digital school census, and any examinations already scheduled.
Relevant officials and staff have been instructed to continue these activities effectively in accordance with the guidelines issued by the department.
Officials also stated that the situation is being monitored continuously, and further instructions may be issued if required.
