Quetta, April 30, 2026 — In a landmark development for the healthcare sector, the Government of Balochistan has announced the launch of the province’s first-ever air ambulance service aimed at providing emergency medical assistance to the general public, particularly in remote and hard-to-reach areas.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the “Peoples Air Ambulance” project is fully prepared for public service and will soon be formally inaugurated before beginning operations across the province.
According to the chief minister, the air ambulance service will play a crucial role in transporting victims of road accidents and critically ill patients from distant and mountainous regions to major hospitals in urban centers without delay.
He emphasized that the initiative is expected to significantly improve emergency healthcare response and help save precious human lives by ensuring timely medical treatment in critical situations.
The provincial government, he added, is actively working to modernize the healthcare sector and strengthen the emergency response system by introducing advanced medical and rescue facilities throughout Balochistan.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti stated that the Peoples Air Ambulance project reflects the government’s people-centric vision and its commitment to improving public healthcare services in the province.
The introduction of the air ambulance service is being viewed as a major step forward for Balochistan, where vast distances and difficult terrain have long posed serious challenges for emergency medical transportation.
