Web Desk: An Mi-17 helicopter belonging to Pakistan Army Aviation crashed near Muzaffarabad on Wednesday shortly after take-off, resulting in the martyrdom of all personnel on board, according to the military’s media wing.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the helicopter went down due to a suspected technical fault. Rescue and recovery teams were immediately dispatched to the crash site, but no survivors were found.

The military confirmed that all occupants embraced martyrdom in the tragic accident. Authorities have launched a board of inquiry to determine the exact cause of the crash and investigate the technical circumstances surrounding the incident.

Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with all ranks of the Pakistan Army, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended condolences to the bereaved families.

Pakistan has also witnessed several other helicopter accidents in recent years, including crashes in Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Siachen, highlighting the challenges faced by military aviation operations in difficult terrain and demanding weather conditions.
