Qaseem Shah:

QUETTA: Railway operations in and out of Balochistan have hit a temporary standstill, as Pakistan Railways announced a two-day suspension of train services citing “unavoidable circumstances.”
The disruption has left hundreds of passengers stranded and altered key travel routes across the province. According to railway officials, the suspension began on Wednesday with the cancellation of the Jaffar Express, which runs from Quetta to Peshawar. The service will remain suspended today (Thursday) as well.
Key Disruptions and Altered Routes
Travelers planning to head into or out of Quetta will need to adjust their plans. Here is what you need to know about the current suspensions:
Jaffar Express (Quetta to Peshawar): Completely canceled for Wednesday and Thursday.
Inbound Jaffar Express: Trains traveling toward Quetta from other parts of the country will terminate early and are currently restricted to Jacobabad.
Bolan Mail & Chaman Passenger: Officials confirmed that the Bolan Mail (connecting to Karachi) and the Chaman Passenger train (connecting to Chaman) were already suspended prior to this latest announcement.
Passenger Advisory: Travelers are advised to contact Pakistan Railways helpline or local station masters before heading to the stations to check for real-time updates and refund policies.
While authorities have chalked up the sudden halt to “unavoidable reasons,” they have not yet specified the exact nature of the operational or security challenges causing the delay. Railway officials stated that regular services will be restored as soon as track clearances and operational green lights are given.
