Web Desk: In a major development in the high-profile Hira murder case, a court in Quetta has sentenced the victim’s father and maternal uncle to life imprisonment for the killing of the 14-year-old American-origin girl.
The verdict was announced by the Additional District and Sessions Judge-X, who found both accused guilty after the completion of trial proceedings. The convicted individuals, Anwar-ul-Haq Rajput, the victim’s father, and Muhammad Tayyab Bhatti, her maternal uncle, were each sentenced to life imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs200,000 on each convict.
Hira, a 14-year-old TikTok content creator, was shot dead in Quetta’s Balochi Street area in January 2025. The incident sparked widespread outrage and drew national attention due to the victim’s young age and the disturbing allegations surrounding the case.
According to the prosecution, investigations revealed that the murder had allegedly been planned in advance. Authorities stated that Hira had been brought from the United States to Pakistan before the crime took place. The investigation further alleged that her father and maternal uncle were involved in orchestrating the killing.
Following the collection of evidence and witness testimonies, the court concluded the trial by convicting both accused and awarding them life imprisonment along with monetary penalties.
The Hira murder case remained under public scrutiny throughout the legal proceedings and has reignited discussions about violence against minors, family-related crimes, and the safety of young social media influencers in Pakistan.
