TAFTAN: Seven buses carrying 204 pilgrims left for Quetta on Saturday morning. The pilgrims had entered from Iran and completed the quarantine period at Taftan.
The pilgrims are being shifted to their home provinces amid tight security, Liaquat Shahwani, the Spokesman government of Balochistan said. 77 pilgrims are from Balochistan, 63 from Punjab, 59 from Sindh and 5 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Pakistan has closed borders with Iran on February 23rd to halt the spread of deadly coronavirus in the country. Over 6000 pilgrims have been quarantined at Pak-Iran border Taftan so far.
On Friday, traders and pilgrims staged a protest demonstration at Taftan against the non-availability of testing kits. They blocked the road and chanted slogans against the provincial government for its failure to conduct their tests after completion of the quarantine period.
