Local journalist Shahid Zehri martyred in a blast

HUB: A local journalist, Shahid Zehri was martyred in a bomb explosion on Sunday night. The journalist sustained serious wounds and succumbed to injuries in hospital. The bomb went off in the jurisdiction of Hub city police station.
Police reached the spot as an investigation into the incident went underway. “We are investigating the nature of the blast”, police said. Shahid was associated with a private tv channel Metro 1. Police said the journalist’s vehicle was targeted through a homemade hand grenade.
Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan strongly condemned the incident. He directed the police to submit a report in this regard.
Governor Balochistan, Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha strongly condemned the killing of the journalist. In a statement, the Governor said the accused involved in the terrorist act would be brought to justice.
Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) also condemned the incident and demanded of the government to arrest the perpetrators of the blast. In a statement issued on Sunday night, the BUJ said the government has failed to protect the lives of journalists in Balcohistan.
The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed the responsibility for the attack.
