Eight miners trapped as blast reported inside a coal mine near Quetta

At least eight miners were trapped as a blast was reported inside a coal mine near Quetta. According to levies sources, a methane gas blast was reported in the Mangal Dam Sara Ghurgai area of Quetta. “Eight miners are trapped inside the mine after the blast”, levies said.

A video shared on social media shows, rescue workers carrying oxygen cylinders were going inside the mine. A rescue worker was also carrying a miner on his shoulder, it was shown in the video. The rescue workers were also appealing to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Frontier Corps, and other concerned authorities to dispatch technical teams to rescue the trapped miners.

Hazardous working conditions have claimed thousands of precious human lives in coal mines of Balochistan.
