Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) registered the First Information Report (FIR) in connection with the Sibi suicide blast on Thursday. A suicide blast had martyred five security personnel in Balochistan’s Sibi city the other day. The outlawed Islamic State (IS) had claimed the responsibility for the attack.
In the FIR, clauses of terrorism including 302, 324, 353, murder, attempt to murder, etc were included by the police. The terrorists had initially lobbed a hand grenade at the security personnel deployed on the eve of President Dr. Arif Aliv’s visit to Sibi Mela.
The terrorist blew himself up after the grenade attack, police said. President Alvi was addressing the final ceremony of the historic Sibi Mela when the terror struck. So far no arrest was made in connection with the terror attack.
Security has been tightened in and around Sibi in the aftermath of the blast.
