An Accountability Court in Quetta has convicted Secretary Local Government Balochistan, Mir Imran Gichki to 5 years imprisonment in a corruption case. The court has also fined the accused an Rs.800 million fine, the Spokesman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) said in a statement on Tuesday.
Police arrested the serving Secretary LG and sent him to district jail Quetta after announcing the judgment. Aftab Ahmed Loan, the Judge of the AC Quetta announced the judgment.
The Spokesman mentioned that NAB had filed a reference against Mir Imran Gichki in the assets beyond means case. Mr. Gichki had served as the Staff Officer (SO) of former Chief Minister Balochistan. He had also served as the Secretary of Sports and Culture in Balochistan.

Assets and jewelry were also confiscated by the NAB on the directives of the court. Muhammad Dawood Jan, the Prosecutor presented NAB throughout the case in the court. NAB Spokesman mentioned that the accused had made properties in Islamabad and other parts of the country. The Bureau initiated an inquiry and subsequently filed the reference after getting solid evidence.
After Mushtaq Raisani, the former secretary of finance, Mr. Gichki is the second serving officer of the Balochistan government arrested by NAB, the Spokesman concluded.
