QUETTA: The administration on Wednesday sealed 107 shops and arrested 78 people for violation of continued lockdown in the aftermath of the global outbreak of novel coronavirus. Syeda Nida Kazmi, the assistant commissioner Quetta city conducted raids in various parts of the city to make sure complete lockdown.
The Balochistan government has extended the lockdown till April 30th in an effort to contain the novel coronavirus, Liaquat Shahwani, the Spokesman government of Balochistan said. The province confirmed the highest number of coronavirus cases i.e. 33 on Wednesday since the outbreak of the virus.
The people arrested by the administration were shifted to various police stations in the city. Raids were conducted in almost all parts of the city to ensure complete lockdown and halt the spread of coronavirus.
“Out of 281 coronavirus cases, 130 cases were the result of local spread of the virus”, Mr. Shahwani mentioned.
Streets and roads in Quetta were giving a deserted look as the government kept continued lockdown. However, the provincial government has allowed dates shop owners, medical stores, tailor masters and shops with construction materials have been allowed to operate despite the lockdown.
