Sardar Muhammad Khondai:

Quetta Chaman train service was restored after two weeks on Monday morning. Pakistan Railways had suspended the train service between Quetta and Chaman after flash floods wreaked havoc across Balochistan.

The floods had also damaged a portion of the railway track between Quetta and Chaman. The Pakistan Railways dispatched a technical team to the affected area and they ensured the repair of the damaged track on Sunday.

The passenger train service was formally restored between Quetta and Chaman on Monday morning. Work is also in progress on the reconstruction of the damaged ancient railway bridge in the Hirak area of Bolan. Floods had damaged the bridge built by the British Colonial rulers in the 1880s. “Our technical team is busy in the restoration of the train service”, an official of the PR told Daily Quetta Voice.

This caused the suspension of the train service between Balochistan and other parts of  Pakistan. Passengers faced difficulties as floods swept away bridges and roads in various parts of Balochistan. They could not reach their destinations on time.
