CHAMAN:

Armed accused opened fire and killed two persons near Pak Afghan border in Chaman on Thursday. Levies sources said the unknown accused opened fire in the Roghani Karez area of Chaman.

The assailants escaped unhurt from the spot. The injured man was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. The dead body was shifted to the district headquarters hospital Chaman. The injured person also succumbed to injuries inside the hospital, hospital sources confirmed.

A large number of people reached the hospital to recognize the victims. A huge contingent of levies and frontier corps also reached the spot of the incident. They cordoned off the area as an investigation into the incident went underway.

The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained immediately, levies said. Security was tightened in and around Chaman in the aftermath of the attack.
