QUETTA: In a landmark session marking the inauguration of the current provincial government, the 16th Provincial Apex Committee convened under the leadership of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti. With the resolute aim of fostering a secure and prosperous Balochistan, pivotal decisions were reached, encapsulating crucial aspects of law enforcement, border security, and immigration management.

Attended by a formidable ensemble of civil and military dignitaries, including Corps Commander Balochistan, Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan, the session underscored the collaborative ethos driving the province towards progress and stability. Senior officials, including Provincial Home Minister Mir Zia Langove, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, and Chief Collector Customs, lent their expertise to the deliberations.

Anti Trafficking Operations To Be Intensified

Central to the discussions were strategic measures aimed at fortifying law and order, curtailing smuggling activities, and ensuring the repatriation of illegal immigrants. The committee resolved to intensify anti-trafficking operations, bolstered by comprehensive administrative and legal frameworks to dismantle criminal networks.

In a nod to the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, the committee reaffirmed its commitment to the security of Chinese personnel and assets. Stringent adherence to existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) was mandated to augment security protocols, safeguarding vital infrastructural endeavors.

Committee Vows To Combat Smuggling

Furthermore, concerted efforts were pledged to combat two-way smuggling of essential commodities such as sugar, fertilizer, and petroleum products, heralding a renewed focus on border integrity and customs enforcement.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, in his impassioned address, underscored the pivotal role of a tranquil Balochistan in fostering national harmony. Emphasizing collective responsibility in the fight against terrorism, he reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering stance against perpetrators of violence, advocating for justice and accountability.
