Syed Ali Shah:
QUETTA: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, emphasized the government’s commitment to resolving the province’s issues through dialogue. He expressed these views while speaking during the Balochistan Assembly session on Friday evening.
He stated, “The government is ready to hold talks with everyone to find political solutions to the issues relating to Balochistan. Both the federal and provincial governments are prepared to engage with those who have reservations and apprehensions.”
However, Bugti drew a firm line when it came to violence. “Those involved in the killing of teachers, laborers, and other innocent people cannot be spared. If there is a law-abiding citizen, we will hug him and respect him, but if someone takes the law into their own hands and forms armed groups, the government will exercise its authority,” he asserted. “None will be allowed to challenge the writ of the government and form armed groups to shed the blood of innocent people.”
Addressing governance issues, Bugti highlighted efforts to improve the province’s education and health sectors. “Substantial funds have been allocated to enhance health facilities and government-run schools across the province,” he noted. “We are committed to ensuring that the basic needs of our people, particularly in education and healthcare, are met with quality services.”
Bugti also touched upon environmental concerns, mentioning initiatives like the Green Bus project. “We are launching the Green Bus service and will increase the number of buses running from Kuchlak to Mastung. This is part of our broader efforts to address climate change and improve public transportation.”
The Chief Minister expressed concerns about non-development expenditures, urging a focus on efficient use of resources. “We must be cautious about increasing non-development expenditures. Our priority should be on projects that directly benefit the people,” he said. Bugti concluded with a promise to enhance the well-being of the common man through improved governance, stating, “The plight of the common man will be improved through better governance and strategic use of our resources.”
