QUETTA: Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman, Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Gwadar, has declared his decision to join the opposition benches in the Balochistan Provincial Assembly. This move comes in response to the alleged use of force by the provincial government against supporters of the Baloch Raji Muchi (BYC). Maulana Rehman expressed his disapproval of the current government led by Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, stating, “I cannot support a government that uses force against its own people. The actions against BYC supporters in Mastung and other parts of Balochistan are unacceptable.”

The Balochistan National Party (Mengal) and the National Party (NP), two significant political entities in the province, have also criticized the recent violence. They condemned the attack on the BYC convoy in Mastung. Sajid Tareen Advocate of the BNP remarked, “Such acts of violence against peaceful assemblies are a gross violation of democratic principles. We stand with the BYC and demand accountability.”

Aslam Baloch of the NP echoed these sentiments, stating, “The use of force against political activists is a sign of a repressive regime. The government must ensure the safety and rights of all citizens, including those who dissent.”

The situation highlights growing political tensions in Balochistan, as opposition voices call for justice and accountability in the wake of the incident.
