TURBAT: Two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were martyred and four others injured in a roadside bomb blast on Wednesday in the Dasht area of Balochistan’s Kech district, officials confirmed.

The incident occurred as a convoy of Qatari nationals, reportedly members of the royal family, was returning to their camp after a hunting expedition. Assistant Commissioner Dasht, Hameed Korai, confirmed the attack and stated that the Qatari dignitaries were unharmed.

“The blast claimed the lives of two FC personnel and injured four others. The Arabs remain safe, and their security has been enhanced,” AC Korai said.

Local sources reported that the Qatari group was in the region for houbara bustard hunting, a practice often criticized by conservationists as the species is classified as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

It remains unclear whether the convoy or the security forces were the intended target of the attack. Authorities have launched an investigation, and security has been tightened across the district.

The blast highlights ongoing security challenges in the region, especially during visits by foreign dignitaries.
