Quetta: A three-day tribal jirga organised by the Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party, chaired by central secretary Nawab Muhammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai, concluded in Quetta.
PKMAP Chairman, Mehmood Khan Achakzai and other political and tribal elders participated in the jirga.
The jirga issued a 15-point declaration addressing Pakistan’s political, economic, and constitutional crises.
The jirga called for the immediate resignation of the current government and the formation of a national caretaker government to oversee transparent elections under an autonomous election commission. It emphasized the need to restructure Pakistan into a genuine democratic federation with parliamentary supremacy, equitable provincial rights, and guaranteed ownership of natural resources for local populations.
The jirga condemned discrimination against Afghan-origin individuals born and raised in Pakistan, demanding they be granted citizenship and issued identity cards.
The assembly opposed the misuse of provincial lands, demanding the cancellation of unconstitutional land allotments under federal initiatives. It also condemned the alleged corruption and exploitation on highways.
The jirga stressed the urgent need for systemic reforms to restore constitutional integrity and address longstanding grievances of marginalized communities.
