QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan has retrieved more than one million acres of forest land across the province, valued at approximately Rs1.3 trillion, during an extensive eight-month operation.

According to NAB officials, the land was recovered in close coordination with the Board of Revenue and Deputy Commissioners of respective districts. The large-scale campaign aimed to reclaim forest property from land grabbers and illegal occupants, ensuring the protection of state-owned land from future encroachments.

The recovered land has now been formally handed over to the Balochistan Forest Department. A senior NAB officer said the provincial government has also established Forest Settlement Boards in every district and Forest Tribunals at the divisional level to address local concerns.

“These institutions will help resolve disputes related to land ownership and usage in a fair and transparent manner, while safeguarding community rights,” the officer added.
