Quetta Cracks Down on Illegal Petrol Pumps, Price Violations and Polythene Bags

The Quetta district administration carried out a major citywide crackdown against price violations, the use of polythene bags, irregular practices at mutton and beef shops, and illegal mini petrol pumps operating in high-traffic areas.

During the large-scale inspection drive, officials checked 95 shops and markets, arrested 21 violators, and sent 13 individuals to jail on the spot for non-compliance. Authorities also sealed 8 illegal mini petrol pumps and 10 mutton and beef shops, while 50 kilograms of polythene bags were confiscated. In total, fines were imposed on 13 shopkeepers for violating district regulations.

The crackdown was supervised by Special Magistrate Izzatullah in Subdivision Sariab, Dr. Imran Zaib in Subdivision City, and Haseeb Sardar in Subdivision Saddar, ensuring strict enforcement across commercial areas.

The Quetta district administration reaffirmed its commitment to continuous and indiscriminate action to ensure the availability of quality food items, maintain controlled meat prices, and achieve the complete removal of encroachments from the city.
