RawalPindi : His Highness General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the Bahrain National Guard, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Staff (CDF) at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi, the military,s media wing said.

During the meeting, both dignitaries discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional security environment, and opportunities to further enhance Pakistan-Bahrain defence cooperation, military collaboration, and security ties, the Inter-Services Public Relations said. The leaders expressed satisfaction over the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Bahrain and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral military engagement.

Earlier, the Commander of the Bahrain National Guard also held separate meetings with Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, at Naval Headquarters and Air Headquarters, respectively.

At Naval Headquarters, discussions focused on maritime security cooperation, regional security dynamics, and bilateral defence collaboration. The Bahraini commander appreciated the Pakistan Navy’s contribution to regional maritime stability and its role in promoting cooperative maritime security across the region.

During the meeting at Air Headquarters, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu highlighted the Pakistan Air Force’s modernization initiatives, including capability enhancement, infrastructure development, indigenization, and advanced training reforms. Both sides exchanged views on emerging defence technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), drones, autonomous systems, advanced sensors, digital innovation, and integrated air defence systems.

The Bahraini commander praised the professionalism, operational readiness, and contributions of the Pakistan Armed Forces towards regional peace and stability. He also commended the modernization efforts and indigenous defence capabilities of Pakistan’s military and expressed keen interest in expanding cooperation in defence training, technology exchange, and capacity-building initiatives.

According to ISPR, the visit reflects the strong and enduring Pakistan-Bahrain defence partnership and is expected to further strengthen bilateral military cooperation for the mutual benefit of both brotherly nations.
