QUETTA: The Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) has inaugurated a state-of-the-art swimming pool at its Takatu Campus, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure and promoting a healthy lifestyle among students.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Meena Majeed Baloch, Member of the Balochistan Provincial Assembly and Advisor to the Chief Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, who served as the chief guest.

She was welcomed by BUITEMS Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez (TI), Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Arbab Mirwais Kasi, Registrar Jamal Mustafa, Director Sports Abdul Qadeem Kakar, along with deans, directors, faculty members, university staff and a large number of students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Meena Majeed Baloch praised BUITEMS for its continued investment in modern sports facilities, describing the new swimming pool as a significant step toward encouraging sports excellence, student well-being and youth development in Balochistan. She also appreciated the university’s commitment to creating an environment that supports both academic achievement and physical fitness.

The newly inaugurated swimming pool is expected to provide students with world-class training and recreational opportunities while further enhancing BUITEMS’ reputation as one of Pakistan’s leading higher education institutions with a strong focus on sports and student development.
