Blast in Chaman kills 6 injured over a dozen after Palestine solidarity rally

A blast in Chaman, Pakistan’s bordering city with Afghanistan has killed 6 people and injured over a dozen people. Police said the terrorists targeted the vehicle of Maulana Abdul Qadir Luni, the central leader of Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (Nazariati), Saleem Kakar, a senior administration official told Quetta Voice. Maulana Luni is also among the injured, Mr. Kakar added. “I was the target of the blast”, Maulana Luni told a news conference after the blast. He however said, “I would not stop my politics and bow down before terrorists”.
Injured rushed to the hospital
The injured rushed to civil hospital Chaman for medical treatment. The bomb went off soon after a rally taken out by the religious party in solidarity with Palestinians. “Six dead bodies brought to the hospital”, Dr. Akhtar, the Medical Superintendent of Chaman hospital said.
Blast rocks entire Chaman city
The blast rocked the entire bordering city. The strength of the blast smashed the glasses of nearby homes and shops. Police said the vehicle of the religious leader targeted in the Murghi Bazar area of Chaman. “Over a dozen injured brought to the hospital”, Dr. Akhtar, the Medical Superintendent of Chaman hospital said. Emergency imposed in the hospital to treat the injured of the blast.
IED planted in a motorcycle
The terrorists had planted an improvised explosive device in a motorcycle parked near the vehicle of a religious leader. Police and personnel of law enforcement agencies reached the spot as investigation into the incident went underway.
Jam Kamal condemns the blast
Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has strongly condemned the terrorist act. In a statement issued after the blast, Jam Kamal said the perpetrators of the blast would be brought to justice. He said the terrorists have targeted innocent people. “This is not acceptable”, Jam Kamal said.
Investigators also reached the spot of the blast and collected evidence regarding the incident.
