Senate election: Mengal predicts a political explosion in Balochistan

Chief of Balochistan National Party (Mengal), Sardar Akhtar Mengal has predicted a political explosion on the eve of senate elections. “You will hear a big explosion tomorrow”, the BNP chief told reporters on Tuesday.

Naseema Ehsan Shah, the wife of BNP (Awami) legislator also joined BNP Mengal at a news conference. Other BNP legislators and party workers were also present on the occasion.

“We will give surprise to the government”, Akhtar Mengal mentioned. He said the component parties of the opposition committed to ensuring the strengthening of democratic institutions in the country.

BNP has 10 legislators in the house of 65

BNP has 10 legislators in the house of 65 in the Balochistan Assembly. The party has fielded candidates on technocrats, women, and general seats for the upper house.

Sardar Akhtar Mengal mentioned that workers of nationalist political parties have rendered sacrifices to uphold the banner of democracy in the country. Although, he said his party workers have suffered a lot during this struggle for supremacy of the constitution and rule of law.

The component parties of the anti-government alliance had turned down the offer of ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) for 4 Senate seats. The PDM demanded 6 seats in the upper house.
