Barkhan court grants bail to Sardar Khetran in triple murder

A Quetta court granted 10-day physical remand of Balochistan Minister, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran to the Crimes Branch Police on Thursday evening.

Police arrested the minister in connection with the triple murder in the Barkhan district of Balochistan the other day.

Khetran produced before the court amid tight security

Amid tight security, the minister was produced before a judicial magistrate in the district court Quetta. The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Crimes Branch, Wazir Khan Nasar, and other senior police officers also appeared before the court and sought the remand of the minister.

The judge granted a 10-day remand of the minister to the Crimes Branch Police in connection with the Barkhan incident.

Heirs of the victims had accused the Balochistan minister of killing the victims. The charge was vehemently denied by the minister. “This is an attempt to tarnish my political image”, Sardar Khetran told reporters.

Protest continues for the third day

Heirs, Marri Itehad and members of various political parties and civil society kept continued their protest against the triple murder in the Red Zone of Quetta for the third consecutive day. Khan Muhammad Marri, the heir of the victims also participated in the protest demonstration.

“I want justice”, Mr. Marri who once used to be the private security guard of Sardar Khetran demanded.

Senator Mushtaq of JI reaches a protest demonstration

Various political leaders also joined the ongoing protest against the Barkhan incident and announced supporting the protesters. Senator Mushtaq of the Jamaat e Islami (JI) also joined the protest demonstration and delivered a stormy speech.

“There should be no private jails in Balochistan and across Pakistan”, the Senator said. He said the FIR should be lodged as per the satisfaction and demand of the heirs of the victims.

Senator Mushtaq demanded a fair and transparent investigation into the incident. “JI stands by the protesters in this hour of grief and sorrow”, the Senator announced.
