The Health Department of Balochistan issued offer letters for the appointment of 849 doctors outside Quetta after the approval of the cabinet. The doctors include 131 consultants, 60 specialists, 270 medical officers, 313 lady medical officers, and 75 dental surgeons, Dr. Ababgar Baloch, the Balochistan Health Department spokesman said.

Doctors have been appointed in all the districts of Balochistan to improve health services in remote areas of the province, he added. On the instructions of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo and Health Minister Syed Ehsan Shah, the ad hoc appointments have been implemented.

Consultants include surgeons, physicians, radiologists, peds surgeons, peds physicians, gastroenterologists, ENT surgeons, gynecologists, and other specialists, he mentioned.

The consultant has been posted in more than 15 teaching hospitals in Balochistan. Medical Officers, Lady Medical Officers, and Dental Surgeons have been posted in all District Headquarters Hospitals, Tehsil Headquarters, and Civil Hospitals of Balochistan.

With this initiative of the Balochistan government, there will be no shortage of doctors in the province for the next two years. All District Health Committees shall be bound to send monthly reports of doctors to the Health Department. Action will be taken according to the law against the doctors against whom complaints are received.

Extension of contracts of doctors who perform the best duty will be done. A special unit is being established in the health department which will monitor all the doctors in the province.

In the coming two months, all hospitals across Balochistan will have a continuous supply of medicines, and the shortage of medical equipment will be met, he concluded.
