Ziarat, Pakistan’s famous tourist destination received spring’s snowfall on Thursday. However, Quetta and other parts of Balochistan received heavy rainfall.

In Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan province, the citizens faced power outages and low and no gas supply. The continued prolonged and unannounced gas load shedding prompted the Spokesman of Chief Minister Balochistan, Babar Yousafzai to lodge a protest against the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).

SSGC criticized for its failure to provide gas supply to Quetta

“The SSGC is not under our control, it is a federal department”, Mr. Yousafzai said. Especially, most parts of the city plunged into darkness after a heavy downpour.

The situation prompted the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to hold an emergency meeting to tackle the situation. The Director-General of the PDMA, Naseer Ahmed Nasar chaired the meeting and issued directives to the concerned authorities to prepare for the snowfall and rainfall.
