International Labour Day was observed in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan on Monday. Various labor organizations and political parties took out rallies to pay rich tribute to the Chicago martyrs.

“Inflation has compounded the problems of laborers across Pakistan”, Sultan Muhammad Khan, the President of All Pakistan Mines and Labour Associations said. Mr. Khan’s organization staged a protest demonstration outside the Quetta Press Club and demanded the provincial and federal governments increase the daily wages of laborers in view of skyrocketing prices of the commodities.

“Labourers are the worst sufferers of inflation in the country”, Sultan Muhammad Khan stated. He said especially thousands of coal miners working in coal mines of Balochistan were facing financial issues. “Besides inflation, coal miners are also losing their lives inside coal mines of Balochistan”, Mr. Khan said.

The protesters were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans paying rich tribute to the martyrs of Chicago. They demanded better salary packages for the working class across Pakistan.

CM Bizenjo also pays rich tribute to the martyrs of Chicago

Labor organizations organized rallies in memory of martyrs of Chicago in Loralai, Sibi, Khuzdar, and other parts of Balochistan. In their addresses, labour leaders paid rich tribute to the martyrs of Chicago and urged the government to ensure the implementation of labor laws.

The Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Quddus Bizenjo also paid rich tribute to the martyrs of Chicago and said that his government was making efforts to make sure the implementation of labor laws in the province.

Mr. Bizenjo stated that laborers were playing a key role in the development and prosperity of the country and nation. “We salute our laborers for their sacrifices”, Mr. Bzienjo stated.

Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Ziaullah Langove also paid rich tribute to the martyrs of Chicago.
