Kalat: The Quetta-Karachi Highway was reopened after 30 hours of successful negotiations, ending a prolonged protest by the family of missing Syed Akhtar Shah.

The sit-in began when Syed Akhtar Shah’s family blocked the highway for 24 hours, demanding action to locate their missing loved one. Women and children actively joined the protest, highlighting the family’s distress and urging authorities to intervene.

The highway closure caused significant disruptions, leaving passengers stranded in freezing temperatures overnight. Travelers faced extreme hardships as negotiations between the protesters and authorities stretched into hours.

After 30 hours, an agreement was reached, leading to the highway’s reopening and the resumption of normal traffic. The incident underscores the need for timely action on missing person cases to prevent such disruptions in the future.
