Quetta: “Terrorist organizations exploit youth to disrupt peace and serve the interests of anti Pakistan foreign countries aiming to weaken the country,” said Najeebullah, a former commander of the outlawed Baloch Republican Army (BRA), during a press conference in Quetta.
Balochistan Ministers, Mir Zahoor Buledi, Meena Majeed and DIG CTD, Aitzaz Goraya were also present on the occasion.
Najeebullah, along with other surrendered commanders, confessed to being used by anti-Pakistan elements to create unrest and target innocent civilians.
Exploitation of Youth and Internal Conflicts
Najeebullah revealed he joined a militant group in 2005 due to an initial interest in politics and later became a senior member of the BRA. “I played a key role in strengthening the party in Makran Division with Sangat Sana’s assistance. Following directives from Brahamdagh Bugti, we formed two groups, one of which I led,” he shared.
He highlighted the internal divisions within militant groups and the pressure to align with foreign-backed entities like Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar (BRAS). “If you oppose the interests of group leaders, you risk being killed or arrested abroad,” he said, adding that this realization strengthened his resolve to return and work within the state framework.
Call for Peace and Reintegration
Najeebullah thanked the government for offering an opportunity to reintegrate, emphasizing the need to address grievances within the state’s structure. He also disclosed that two of his associates, Masood and Jaleel, remain missing.
The provincial government and security officials welcomed the surrender, calling on other misguided individuals to abandon violence and join the national mainstream. The confessions from former commanders underscore the role of foreign elements in destabilizing Balochistan and targeting innocent citizens.
This surrender is seen as a significant step toward peace and stability in the province.
