Breakthrough made: Govt, YDA Balochistan held crucial talks

QUETTA: Breakthrough was made as government ministers and office-bearers of Young Doctors Association (YDA) Balochistan held crucial talks on Wednesday evening. Provincial health minister, Syed Ehsan Shah, planning and development minister, Mir Zahoor Buledi, secretary health Noor ul Haq Baloch represented the government.

However, Dr. Hafeez Mandokhail, Dr. Samad Panezai, Naseebullah Kakar from Para Medical Staff Association and others represented the YDA during talks. “Both sides agreed on a number of demands presented by YDA”, a well-placed source told Quetta Voice. He said the government negotiating team accepted almost all genuine demands of the protesting doctors.

The government assured the release of 19 young doctors from the jail, withdrawal of show causes, creating seats of doctors for the Public Service Commission, etc during the meeting, he narrated. The YDA representatives assured that they would call off the strike once the government issues notifications in this regard.

“I held a meeting with Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo and he assured solution of issues”, Syed Ehsan Shah, the health minister told Quetta Voice. Mr. Shah said the government was ready to accept all genuine demands of the doctors.

A breakthrough in terms of ending the boycott of the doctors is expected today (Thursday), the source reiterated.
