QUETTA: Law enforcement agencies have successfully apprehended a female suicide bomber named Adela Baloch in Turbat city, Kech district. Adela, who had been employed as a nurse at Turbat Teaching Hospital, was arrested before she could carry out any attack. Authorities have credited proactive intelligence and relentless efforts by security forces for this arrest, marking a key achievement in Balochistan’s battle against terrorism.

In a media interview, Adela shared her experience, revealing that she had been misled by extremist groups and expressing deep regret for her choices. She explained that, as a qualified nurse working on a project for the World Health Organization, her intention was to help and save lives. However, she acknowledged her unfortunate involvement with individuals who misguided her down a dangerous path.

Adela recounted how she was lured in by false promises of a better life, a tactic frequently used by terrorist recruiters to target vulnerable individuals. After spending time with the group, she realized that the promised future was a lie, and life with the militants was nothing but hardship.

She further disclosed that many Baloch women are coerced into suicide missions, not through personal choice, but by force and blackmail. Adela herself had been manipulated to the point of being ready to carry out a suicide bombing, without fully considering the harm it would cause to innocent people.

In a message to Baloch youth, she urged them to learn from her mistakes, stressing that such actions lead to suffering, not freedom. She encouraged those who encounter similar influences to confide in their families and seek help.

Her capture highlights the continued efforts of the Balochistan government and security forces in curbing terrorism, while also shedding light on the exploitative tactics employed by militants to manipulate individuals.
