Turbat: An important meeting on the restoration of border trade was held at the DC Office Turbat under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kech, Basheer Ahmed Badich. The meeting was attended by businesspersons, representatives, and other relevant stakeholders associated with cross-border trade.

During the meeting, the DC emphasized the need for effective measures to promote Pakistan–Iran border trade and resolve the issues faced by local traders. He announced that the Sourap Border, Pillar No. 214, will officially be reopened for trade activities on December 7, 2025.

The DC further informed that on September 1, a high-level delegation—including border-related traders, civil society representatives, and district administration officials—will visit the border area to review preparations for trade restoration.

He stated that trade activities will resume from the same point where they were previously halted, and the border will gradually be fully restored to normal operations. The DC assured traders that the Kech district administration will provide full support to ensure that business activities resume in a stable and organized manner.

Meanwhile, traders associated with border commerce welcomed the announcement, terming it a significant step toward improving the local economy and creating new employment opportunities.
