COVID19: DS Turbat Jail 17 inmates test positive

Deputy Superintendent Jail Turbat Murad Bakhsh and 17 inmates tested positive for COVID19. A senior prison officer told Quetta Voice health department had conducted tests inside the jail on December 4 in Turbat. He requested anonymity.
The laboratory report confirmed the DS Jail and 17 inmates contracted the deadly virus. All affected inmates and the DS have been isolated, he mentioned. Balochistan has 11 prisons that house over 2,100 inmates. Most of the inmates are in district jail Quetta.
Cases of COVID19 appear to be on a constant rise in Balochistan
Overall, the number of coronavirus cases appear to be on a constant rise in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan for last more than a month. “Cases continue to increase in Balochistan”, Liauqat Shahwani, the Spokesman government of Balochistan said. Mr. Shahwani urged the people to adopted social-distancing and wear masks to battle the deadly virus.
Cases near 18000 in Balochistan
The COVID19 cases in Balochistan have neared 18000 in the province. The death toll in coronavirus cases have also reached 173 in the province, Waseem Baig, the spokesman corona cell said.
The deadly virus has hit hard Quetta, Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Mastung, and other districts of Balochistan. “This second wave of the virus is very dangerous”, Mr. Shahwani said. The government has also urged the masses to wear masks to battle the coronavirus. The provincial government has already declared wearing masks compulsory in government offices to contain the virus.
