PMDC to Regulate Private Medical College Fees

The PM&DC is taking a proactive approach to prevent excessive tuition fees while ensuring high-quality education in private medical institutions. By implementing a structured fee policy, the Council aims to promote transparency, fairness, and sustainability in the medical education sector.

In an official statement, the PM&DC confirmed that an emergent Council meeting has been convened to deliberate on a fair and standardized fee policy. The meeting will include discussions with key stakeholders, including representatives from private medical and dental colleges, education experts, and government officials.

Government Directives on Medical College Fees

Previously, in response to directives issued by the Senate Standing Committee on National Health Services Regulations and Coordination, all private medical and dental institutions were instructed not to collect tuition fees for the 2024-2025 session until a final decision is made by the committee on medical education. This committee, led by the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan, has been tasked with reviewing and revising the tuition structure of private medical and dental colleges in Pakistan.

The PM&DC remains committed to ensuring that quality medical education remains affordable and accessible to aspiring students while upholding academic excellence. Further updates regarding the finalized fee structure will be shared through official channels.
